Watch Dave Grohl Talk Studio 666 and UFOs While Eating Wings on Hot Ones

When you have a new movie in theaters - you make the rounds to promote it ... and that's just what Dave Grohl's been up to this week - pitching his new movie - Studio 666

One of the stops Grohl made this week was on the YouTube series Hot Ones -  where guests eat chicken wings doused in hot sauce while answering interview questions.  Grohl - who was one of the most requested guests - answered questions about the movie, talked about his love for UFOs, and even shared the recipe for Pantera’s pre-show cocktail.  Check it out below:

Dave Matthews Joined Phish On Stage (For The First Time In 26 Years) In Mexico (Watch)

Dave Matthews and Phish had not been on stage together since collaborating for a scorching version of All Along The Watchtower in 1995 at Jiffy Lube Live (Nissan Pavilion at the time)

That changed this week when Phish welcomed Dave on stage during the encore set of their destination event, ‘Phish: Riviera Maya’.  Dave was in town having just  played his own event with Tim Reynolds at the Moon Palace (where he jammed with Trey Anastasio of Phish just days before).

The encore consisted of  “So Damn Lucky” off of Matthews’ 2003 debut album Some Devil (which Anastasio is credited as a contributor on), a cover of Daniel Lanois’ “The Maker,” and the anticipated  “Tweezer Reprise” - that went on for over 20 minutes (!)

Lucy Dacus Plays Entire Show Lying on a Couch Rather Than Canceling Because of Two Herniated Discs

You know old cliche - the show must go on ... well that truly was the case this week for Lucy Dacus.

Scheduled to play a show in Detroit - the indie singer had two herniated discs and the only way she was able to not be in pain was to be laying on a couch.  So rather than cancel the gig - she had an oversized couch put on the stage and perfomed laying down.

Prior to the show - Dacus took to her social media to let her fans know the situation -

“sup, I have two herniated discs and the only way I’m not in pain is laying down SO tonight’s show I will be singing from a couch, I am both sorry and also pleased to offer this most humiliating and hilarious moment to you good people of Detroit.  I am telling myself I am punk for this please do not say otherwise I’m fragile.”

We think she pulled it off pretty well ... and NGL - we don't hate the idea of WATCHING a show from a comfy couch

Dacus is slated to play Rams Head Live in Baltimore on March 5

Liam Gallagher and Dave Grohl Team Up on new track

There have been rumors for years of a Dave Grohl / Liam Gallagher collaboration ... and in 2022 - we finally got it.  G^2 have teamed up to co-write the new song - Everything's Electric.  Grohl also laid down the drums for the track, that (in their words) melds “the thunderous dynamics of Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ with the spiraling tension and danger of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Gimme Shelter.'”

Everything's Electric will appear on Liam's upcoming album, C’mon You Know. The album, out May 27 via Warner Records,

Taylor Goldsmith and Mandy Moore Share New Song - 'Finding You Backwards' [LISTEN]

Dawes lead singer Taylor Goldsmith and his wife Mandy Moore have revealed a new song they co wrote just in time for Valentine's Day.   “Finding You Backwards” was composed for the Amazon Original rom-com I Want You Back starring Charlie Day and Jenny Slate (release date February) 11 - you can stream the song below but it is available exclusively on Amazon Music for now.

On the song - Goldsmith had this to say:

“After reading the script I wrote a piece of music that ended up becoming the main musical motif of the film’s score. The theme had this distinct melodic hook that we’d been teasing throughout the film, and so it felt natural to turn that theme into a classic sounding song to end the film,”

The movie’s composer, Siddhartha Khosla added:

“I proposed that Taylor and I write the song together, and Jason[Director of the film, Jason Orley] was thrilled by the idea as he and I both are huge fans of Taylor’s band, Dawes. Taylor wrote beautiful lyrics to my melody and music, and to cap it off Taylor and Mandy sang it so gorgeously as a duet.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers Share First Single and Details For New Album - Unlimited Love

For the first time since reuniting with guitarist John Frusciante in 2019- the Red Hot Chili Peppers have released new music.

The song - Black Summer - will appear on their upcoming album - Unlimited Love, due out 4/1/22 and their first since 2016.

In a press release - the band said -

“Our only goal is to get lost in the music.  We (John, Anthony, Chad, and Flea) spent thousands of hours, collectively and individually, honing our craft and showing up for one another, to make the best album we could. Our antennae attuned to the divine cosmos, we were just so damn grateful for the opportunity to be in a room together, and, once again, try to get better. Days, weeks and months spent listening to each other, composing, jamming freely, and arranging the fruit of those jams with great care and purpose. The sounds, rhythms, vibrations, words and melodies had us enrapt.”

RHCP will hit the road to support the album  - with their world tour stopping in Washington DC on September 8 at Nationals Stadium with The Strokes.
